New Nimbus Access Card Integration
FuseMetrix Announces Seamless Nimbus Access Card Integration to Improve Accessibility Across UK Attractions
FuseMetrix has partnered with Nimbus Disability - the organisation behind the widely adopted Nimbus Access Card - to deliver a streamlined, industry-leading accessibility integration for visitor attractions.
The Nimbus Access Card, designed and managed by disability advocates, enables individuals with access requirements to register once, and then use their card across multiple partner venues. This gives the disabled community a more tailored, consistent experience - allowing everyone to enjoy attractions with the confidence their needs will be understood and supported.
For attractions, the system provides verified information on guests’ access requirements as well as their entitlement to essential companion tickets, removing the need for difficult on-site conversations and significantly reducing misuse of free carer passes.
Industry-leading implementation
Nimbus worked closely with FuseMetrix to enable the Access Card to be embedded directly into the online booking journey. Guests can now unlock essential companion tickets simply by entering their name and card number, while attractions automatically receive a full accessibility sheet showing visitor requirements by date and time slot.
“This approach makes it seamless for our clients and genuinely transformational for the disabled community - which was incredibly important to us,” said Darren Darkins, CEO of FuseMetrix. “It reduces fraudulent misuse of companion tickets, removes difficult conversations at the gate, and ensures visitors with access needs receive the right support from the moment they arrive.”
Nimbus has praised the FuseMetrix integration as industry-leading, citing its simplicity compared to other platforms, where customers are often redirected to hidden or complex accessibility pages.
FuseMetrix has also extended the feature to its self-service kiosks, allowing on-the-day visitors to unlock essential companion tickets with ease.
Client impact
Early adopters are already seeing measurable results. At Walby Farm Park, essential companion tickets (previously free carer tickets) fell by 53% year on year, even as overall visitor numbers increased.
“That tells us misuse has been eliminated without any negative impact on genuine visitors,” the FuseMetrix team explained. “For our clients, that means stronger revenue protection alongside greater confidence that the right people are being supported.”
Driving inclusion across the sector
The benefits go far beyond fraud reduction. Attractions now have visibility of access requirements in advance, enabling them to prepare facilities such as ramps, hearing loops, or additional staff support.
“This integration isn’t about saving money,” added Darren Darkins. “It’s about reassurance. Knowing their needs are understood before they even arrive makes it far easier for visitors with disabilities and access requirements to enjoy a day out without stress.”
Free to all FuseMetrix clients
The Nimbus Access Card integration is provided at no additional cost to FuseMetrix customers. Clients simply need a relationship with Nimbus to activate the feature, gaining a powerful tool for improving inclusivity while protecting revenue.
With several attractions, including Twycross Zoo and Zip World, already live - and more set to follow - FuseMetrix expects the Nimbus Access Card integration to become a new benchmark for accessibility across the visitor attraction sector.
